My name is Anthony Naguiat, LMHC, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida (License #: MH 10357). I am also a Master’s Certified Addictions Professional (MCAP) and EMDR-Trained therapist.
Clients have mentioned approachability, honest feedback, and humor as some of my strengths.
For the past 10+ years, I have developed my clinical skills in many areas. I have worked with adults in both substance abuse PHP/IOP and psychosocial rehabilitation settings, addressing both mental health and substance-related issues. I spent 2 years counseling undergraduate and graduate students at Nova Southeastern University’s student counseling center. With these students, I provided individual, couples, and family therapy utilizing brief, strength-based techniques. I also have several years of experience in the child welfare/dependency system, providing intensive in-home therapy within the client’s home/foster home and the community. I have helped children, adolescents, and families, many dealing with backgrounds of trauma, child abuse/neglect, and removal from their homes. All of these experiences have shaped my focus as a trauma-informed therapist.
In addition to direct care, I have served in leadership roles as a Team Leader, as well as a Program Supervisor, further strengthening my clinical skills. I also have a background in Managed Care Utilization Management for Outpatient and Residential levels of care. Additionally, I provide clinical supervision as a Qualified Supervisor for Registered Interns seeking licensure in Florida. I am also currently on the Board for the Florida Southeast Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
