My name is Anthony Naguiat (He/Him/His), and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC -License #: MH10357) in the state of Florida. I am also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC – License #: 17769) in the state of North Carolina. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist & an EMDRIA Approved Consultant.

I’ve been a practicing clinician since graduating in late 2007 with my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). My current focus in private practice is individual therapy for adults 18 and up, particularly folks who struggle with past or recent symptoms of trauma/PTSD, anxiety, addiction and substance use concerns, family of origin issues, and grief/loss. While I also utilize CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and other modalities, I am very passionate about using EMDR Therapy as a treatment approach.
I’ve worked with adults in both substance use treatment (PHP/IOP) and psychosocial rehabilitation settings, addressing both mental health and substance-related issues. I also spent 2 years counseling undergraduate and graduate students at NSU’s student counseling center. With these students, I provided individual, couples, and family therapy around a wide range of concerns utilizing brief, strength-based techniques.
I spent the first several years of my career in the child welfare/dependency system, providing intensive in-home therapy within the client’s home/foster home and the community. I have helped children, adolescents, and families, many dealing backgrounds of trauma, child abuse/neglect, and removal from their homes.
In my work with clients, I strive to be an affirming clinician to help support LGBTQIA+ individuals (and/or their families) with concerns related to coming out, lack of support from others, personal relationship stressors, and more. To be very clear about my work, I do not practice or condone any form of conversion therapy.
